PASTOR
SEAN GLENN BERRY
Pastor Berry was installed as Pastor for
St. Timothy Lutheren in a special installation service on August
30th 2020. Attending this special service was 7 other
pastors from the area including our District President,
Rev. Paul Linneman. Attending along with many other
members of the congregation included Pastor Berry's mother or
Castle Rock, Colorado.
Reverend Berry completed his pre-seminary
program at Concordia University in Nebraska and then on to
Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. After a year of post graduate
work, Reverend Berry was called to serve God’s people at St.
Timothy Lutheran Church in Edmonds.
Prior to graduation, Reverend Berry served his vicarage
at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City, New
York.
Reverend Berry is originally
from Castle Rock, Colorado and, with his twin sister attended
schools in Denver and Castle Rock.
While growing up in Colorado he attended elementary and
middle school at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran School in
Denver. After middle school he went to Castle View High School
in Castle Rock, CO.
During College, pursuing a
possible military career he joined the U.S. Army reserves.
During his training his ambitions changed as he experienced
praying with fellow-soldiers and becoming a spiritual figure for
them in a rather stressful transition of their lives. Through
that experience he thought that pursuing the Pastoral office was
the path he should follow.
Immediately
after college, Berry attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis
where he grew in deeper appreciation of the breadth and depth of
God’s incomprehensible Word. During his vicarage in New York, he
learned so many great things from a compassionate supervisor and
loving people. After his vicarage he finished his last year of
Seminary with a Master of Divinity. It was during this last year
of Seminary that the reality of Pastoral ministry and the
seriousness of the call began to weigh on him and he decided to
study one more year. Thus, obtaining another degree, Master of
Sacred Theology.
Rev. Berry says “This last year
of study was an incredibly formative year for me. Call Day and
the events leading to today excites me to make the transition
into the office of Pastor and I am thrilled to serve the people
of St. Timothy. Of course, I would not have gotten this far
without the help from the people who continue to show love and
support for me in various ways.”
